It’s Time To Start
This inquiry project is my attempt to explore Canadian culture intentionally, both for myself as a Canadian curious about her home, and as a way to create learning opportunities for students when I’ll be teaching abroad during the April practicum. My goal is to explore a variety of aspects of culture through different technologies and develop resources and methods to present the wonderful parts of Canada to those who have not experienced it first hand.

Throughout this blog, I’ll be exploring topics such as Canadian stereotypes, popular children’s literature and authors, music, regional and geographical differences, well-known Canadian companies and brands, and other cultural touchstones that shape Canada.
I plan to use a range of digital tools to explore and bring Canadian culture to life in ways that are accessible and engaging for both myself and young learners. Firstly, I will start my inquiry by using sources like audiobooks, interactive maps, games, and videos. As I investigate, I anticipate finding technological resources that I am not familiar with that I get to explore and learn from.
Ultimately, this blog is a space for exploration of how technology can represent Canada’s culture. It’s a place to ask questions, try new technologies, rethink my research/thinking methods, and to share my progress in an encouraging way. As I move forward in this inquiry, I hope it becomes a resource not only for my practicum, but also for my future teaching practice to become familiar with new technologies and continue my own education.
